Kenda Mutongi is awarded the AHA 2018 Martin A. Klein Prize

The Klein Prize is awarded annually by the American Historical Association (AHA) to honor the best book in African history.

Kenda Mutongi, Professor of African History at Williams College and Visiting Professor of History at MIT, has been selected as the winner of the 2018 Martin A. Klein Prize for the book Matatu: A History of Popular Transportation in Nairobi (Univ. of Chicago Press, 2017). The Klein Prize is awarded annually by the American Historical Association (AHA) to honor the best book in African history. The prize will be awarded during a ceremony at the Association’s 133rd Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, January 3-6, 2019. Read more at Historians.org
